Fate/Extella Link is the sort of game with lots of options in front of the player. As someone goes through the adventure, they can eventually end up with 27 playable characters. It is a lot to take in. A newcomer might wonder which Servant might be most suitable for certain situations or best suit a person’s style. The Fate/ series is one with complicated backstories, but one thing that is relatively easy to understand is the concept of Servants. In each installment’s war, there are these fighters that are summoned by Masters, the people participating in this sort of competition for a Holy Grail that can make their wish come true. These familiars are based upon both real and imaginary historic and legendary warriors. With Fate/Extella Link, we have an installment that is incredibly aware of how little people might know about these people and the series and takes care to enlighten them.

Review: Fate/Extella Link offers more ways to connect and fight with Servants

The Fate/ series can be overwhelming. There are different storylines to follow, even though certain characters may appear in multiple installments and timelines. Fate/Extella has attempted to be one of the more accessible spin-offs, at least in gameplay, if not story, and now Fate/Extella Link is here to continue the story that began in Fate/Extra. Fortunately for both newcomers and returning fans, this entry both fixes problems from Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star and tries to help people wade into the depths of its lore.
